Suggestions / Portrait mode?
« on: July 13, 2018, 08:01:57 am »
I don’t know how much demand there is for this, but I occasionally like playing text games in portrait, because I can scan through more text that way.

Game Discussion (NO SPOILERS!) / Sounds Amazing
« on: July 06, 2018, 05:14:38 pm »
I wanted to throw up a post in appreciation of the sound in this game. I rarely keep volume on when I play a game, but I love the way the subtle background sounds add atmosphere without being distracting and the mumblebeep of the “voices” give flavor to caller personalities. The sounds are not what I’d consider essential to the game type, and I’ve played plenty of text based games that ignore sound altogether. I adore the way this game chose to use it as a way to enhance the overall experience. Awesome job!

Story Discussion (Spoiler Heavy!) / Rewinding Rewind, Again.
« on: June 24, 2018, 11:44:23 am »
I restart the game quite a bit, testing different theories or trying new combinations. I just recently notice that there doesn’t seem to be a fixed number or pattern to how many rewinds you get. The max I can say I’ve had for sure is 6, but I half recall having 8 at some point. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Story Discussion (Spoiler Heavy!) / Cats!?
« on: June 20, 2018, 10:27:41 am »
This just occurred to me... when the caller sees the police being attacked, they go downstairs for a better view... then the cats get in using the window the caller left open upstairs.

HOW DID THE CATS GET UP TO A SECOND STORY WINDOW?

This is going to bother me so much. I am leaning towards hovercats. It’s the only sensible explanation.

/clearly a joke, but seriously, what’s the deal?

Other Issues/Questions / Spoiler- Mist inside the house
« on: June 18, 2018, 03:30:02 pm »
Have run across this a few times. On the last call, when I tell the caller to leave the house, they react like I told them to pull the power. See attached.

I am the type of gamer that believes you either have spreadsheets and methodically check every little detail and organize your data or you are wrong. I made myself a fun Google sheet with all sorts of nifty dropdown menus, (you can select your number of stars from a dropdown! This is what fun really is!) I originally had the calls in a dropdown as well, but a bug... 612-11? O.o deleted the call list and I haven't fixed it yet.

Anyhow, since I know how to share forced copies of these things and this game practically begs for a spreadsheet, I thought I'd share! Feel free to use however you'd like.

Oh, I use this when I do multiple plays of the same call, to keep track of what I've done and missed. I add rows by copy-pasting the last row; the new row will keep all the fancy pants formatting. (DROPDOWN MENUS, Y'ALL.)

Story Discussion (Spoiler Heavy!) / Recommended Path
« on: June 15, 2018, 03:16:27 pm »
So, having fiddled with options in the training call, I’ve managed to get “Recommended path: Optimist” in the Secure Line Morse call about a thousand times. Has anyone gotten anything different?

Story Discussion (Spoiler Heavy!) / Rewind
« on: June 06, 2018, 12:28:45 pm »
Okay, first: this has got to be my favorite game to replay. The completionist in me wants to make all sorts of detailed spreadsheets and charts. But one thing bugs me: the rewind. I have never once used it and been taken back to a choice option. I can’t tell if it’s a design flaw, my own luck, or a deliberate design choice. Has anyone had better experiences with this feature?
