News / SHIFT TWO NEWS
« on: June 15, 2021, 11:59:54 am »
Hello Everyone!

Apologies for the very long delay... as I'd previously mentioned life took hold (and then there was a global pandemic?) but I'm finally in a place where I can pick back up and get Shift Two finished!

I'll be updating on progress here more consistently - and I'm aiming to release no later than this fall (though potentially sooner).  We're currently at about 10,000 words (Shift One was almost 70,000 for reference).

I've started a Patreon if you'd like to support the efforts and help out - https://www.patreon.com/kylemccullough

I VERY much appreciate all the love over the years, and I'm super excited to get things going again.

Talk soon.

News / Update 1.19 (Released for iOS & Android!)
« on: September 26, 2018, 02:09:12 pm »
Hey everyone!

I've been hard at work on the new release - 1.19 - it includes many significant updates on the game side and the story side. I'll simplify here and if anyone on the beta is having ANY issues at all - please let me know - help@joindispatch.com!

The main difference you'll see is the new Portrait mode orientation - this was a big request and a lot of work, but I think it's just about ready for prime-time.  The game is set to auto-rotate by default - and you can lock the auto-rotate at any time via the menu.

All of the story points that were blocked for episode one should be accessible - and all of the skills should be reachable, though I'm still working on a few balance issues.

The ratings should be more consistent, but this is still a work in progress!

Currently hard at work on episode 2 as well as the call center and its content - so look for some more defined updates about that later!

As always, thanks so much for playing and for your support, I never expected JoinDispatch to take off like it has, and though it's been a lot of work, it's all of you enjoying it that make it worthwhile.  Keep sending me your ideas, thoughts, suggestions, qualms, dislikes, likes, and anything else you can thing of to make the game better!

Beta Updates / Beta List Opening Up
« on: April 08, 2018, 11:23:31 am »
If anyone is interested in getting on the Beta let me know we are opening it up to more players - right now it's mostly bug fixes, but we'll be giving any beta testers access to new content as well and we have a lot of cool new features in the works, quite a few of them stemming from all the feedback we've gotten, so you can see your ideas in the works.

Give a shout here if you'd like to sign up and I'll add you to our list.  Be aware that being on the beta means you're likely to lose data or experience bugs, but we'll try to keep it as entertaining as possible!

Story Discussion (Spoiler Heavy!) / Skills?!
« on: April 08, 2018, 09:18:23 am »
Hey Everyone

We're working on balancing out the skills system.  We made some too difficult to find and a bug is preventing at least one from showing up at all.   Just trying to get an idea of where the balance is at the moment.

What skills have you guys found?

Thanks!!

News / Update 1.11
« on: April 05, 2018, 05:19:56 pm »
Update 1.11 - Released
Added:
-Two new "Clean Start" options:
--Scratch: resets everything, you can change your name and it and sets you to before the tutorial, you can also re-nickname your manager and go through the help again if you please.
--Keep: resets all the calls and just starts you at the beginning of the shift, maintaining all of your skills, name, and manager nickname.

Also Note: If you're replaying or doing either of the clean start options - the initial "training" call (Caller: 917-20) will come in at some other point in the shift & if you've unlocked the game you will always have first aid

Fixed:
-Minor bug fixes, spelling and text formatting
-Fixes a few more story stick points - notably the training call.
-Fixes an issue where the game could get stuck in between calls in certain circumstances.
-Hopefully fixes the "Welcome Back" stuck screen issue for most players!
-Increases the font size of choices and increases the separation between them.

News / Update 1.1
« on: April 03, 2018, 10:16:31 pm »
Thanks to all our day one adopters who've helped uncover bugs and issues!

We've been overwhelmed with the support from our players and at how many of you there are - We never expected such a wide launch.  It's been a giant effort trying to understand what type of devices and OS versions are doing what - and we're really grateful for all the info you've been sending.

We're working really hard to get all the bug fixes in place, currently focused on issues where the story was "sticking" - so this update should fix most of those.

Fixes:
-Settings Menu Option toggles are remembered when closing the game.
-Fixes an issue where the First Aid skill would disappear or be lost after multiple playthroughs or a clean start.
-Numerous "stick" points in the story fixed - notably the slide n' slip call, the snake bite & the book club.
-A few spelling errors fixedd.  (just kidding, but yes we did fix quite a few - keep reporting them so we don't look silly, there's bound to be more we had to write a LOT for this game.)

Let us know anything we can do to make the game better! We are available and listening - we love getting and integrating feedback and are always looking for ways to improve.

Once we've got the bugs whipped we'll start on feature requests and we look forward to continuing the JoinDispatch universe and releasing additional content and sequels in the future!

Other Issues/Questions / When is more content coming out!?!?!?!?
« on: April 03, 2018, 10:13:26 pm »
A lot of you have been asking this question! We don't ever want to overpromise and underdeliver so it's hard to set solid timelines when we've just launched the game.

We've got a really great storyline mapped out within the JoinDispatch universe and we are definitely going to continue to bring all types of new and exciting views into the world of JD.

We're still trying to work out how to best tell the stories of the JD universe and fulfill the desires of the community so we'd like you guys to help us shape this!

We're currently thinking of releasing occasional free content as well as larger scale sequels that will be paid, but will REALLY change the game... We'd love to hear your thoughts.

What are you loving, hating, liking, meh, rad, etc... about the game? We want to make it better - and we've already learned a LOT in the last couple days so we can't wait to use your help sculpting the future of the game.
